The Lazzara Lab in the Departments of Chemical Engineering and Biomedical Engineering in the School of Engineering & Applied Science at the University of Virginia (UVA) seeks applications for an open Lab Specialist position. The Lazzara Lab is a vibrant research community of eight full-time researchers focused on projects in the areas of cancer cell signaling and precision medicine for oncology.For more details on the Principal Investigator's departmental and center affiliations, please see the links below:

The Lab Specialist will engage primarily in laboratory research and will also assist the Principal Investigator in lab management. The Specialist will perform tasks independently and have authority to adapt methods and procedures to meet research needs. The Specialist may supervise support personnel and assist with managing budgets.

This position can involve extensive periods of time standing or seated at a laboratory bench while conducting experiments. The position also requires use of a keyboard and other manual tasks for typical lab work (e.g., use of pipets).
This position is located in Charlottesville, VA.
The anticipated start date is September 2022. This position is a restricted position and is dependent upon project need, availability of funding and performance. Anticipated Hiring Range: $50,000 - $60,000 commensurate with education and experience. This is an exempt level, benefited position.
